Jimbaran Resto Ancol

The best thing about Bali you can find in Jakarta without going there: Jimbaran restaurant at Ancol. It has beach side, open air restaurant which replicates Jimbaran sea food place in Bali. Tonight it has Balinese dance and music performance, an excellent way to showcase total Balinese atmosphere.

Morning Cycling at Ancol

We spend two nights in Mercure Ancol this long weekend. Ancol offers lots of family entertainments from theme park, beach to giant aquarium. We opted to do cycling around the beach this morning. Fun and healthy.

Celebrating Our 16th Dating Anniversary

Ok, time for couple pose in front of Wan Chai street junction :). This HK-Macau weekend trip continues our annual tradition for "honeymoon", get time just for two of us to spend time together without the kids. Oh, and this is by the way, to commemorate our 16th dating anniversary. It's been that long really. Time flies so fast.

Kao Kei Peanut Candy Store

When we were about to leave Macau, we were wondering, "Why do most people carry the same brown bag? It must be the must-have souvenirs from Macau?!". And it was right. I looked up to internet, and found out that this store, "Kao Kei" pastry sells the favourite gifts from Macau: peanut candy and almond cakes. They tastes delicious, even though not dissimilar with the ones we have at Indonesia: "Enting-enting" and "Sagon". The store (shown on the left side), was full pack with visitors. The posters inside cited that 72% Macau tourists bought the souvenirs from this place. A commanding market share. But I was really amazed with the "salesmanship" of the store keepers, they aggressively offer me various range of cakes and candies, as if the store will go bankrupt tomorrow if they don't sell those. Amazing. No wonder it sells like... well.. hot cakes.

Gambler's Heaven

Forbidden to take pictures, I discreetly took this picture of main gambling hall in Venetian Casino at Cotai strip. Such a huge and beautifully developed gambling complex, complete with luxurious hotels and entertaining mall.

Ferry to Macau

We hopped a chance to visit Macau on the weekend, riding one hour ferry ride there. The ride is brief, and relatively calm despite of quite rough water. Thanks to hydro foil technology.

Masjid Ammar at HK

Elok's friend in HK, Santi, showed us this mosque near Wan Chai. Aside from being a mosque, the place also has moslem food canteen serving variety of 'halal' foods. Such a relaxing finding after days surrounded by pork, pork and pork. :-)

Toy Store at Wan-Chai

I found this toy store near Wan Chai MTR station by coincidence. Apparently the store sells variety of good toys with rather cheap prices compared to Jakarta's. And it also has some bargain bins which sell many famous toy brands in knock out price!

HK Ladies Market

A heaven for ladies looking for bargain price hand bags and quality copy of famous brand. Elok is looking at her options for the gifts.

Bryani Rice Mutton Set

Deepavali Festival

During a business trip to Singapore this week, last night I was asked to a dinner at Little India. Currently there is Deepavali festival where they lit up the lights along the streets.

Glass Bottom Boat

One feature at Siam Ocean World which Jakarta's Sea World doesn't have is Glass Bottom Boat. With this boat, visitors ride on the surface of the gigantic fish tank while observing the life underneath through its glass floor. As shown, Aya and Rafif had a close encounter with Tiger Shark from South Africa swimming past below the boat.

On our last day in Bangkok, we visited Siam Ocean World, an underwater park which was highly recommended by my friends in Bangkok. It did not disappoint the kids, as it presents number of water living creatures in attractive ways.

Paragon Food Court Fish Tank

Kids just love fish! Aya and Rafif stare at the large fish Tank on the top of the dining table on Siam Paragon mall food court, the place we eat every day at Bangkok, as it is just across the road of our hotel.

Exploring Grand Palace

Visiting Grand Palace without a tour guide means Elok has to recollect her memory of our tour guide story last year to guide her mom and Aya.

A trip to Bangkok is not complete if you don't go to Grand Palace. A beautiful palace with rich collection of sacred cultural heritage.

River Cruise

Our tour finished in style. We took a ride on Grand Pearl River Cruise to Bangkok through Chaoprya river. I took picture of Aya and Rafif while they are sitting on observation deck at the back of the cruise. They love it!

Elephant Ride

Ruins and temples may be a bit boring for the kids, especially Rafif. But they are definitely excited to hop on elephant back and take a 10 minutes ride at Ayutthaya.
